Northern Oklahoma College Enid men’s basketball coach Aaron Butcher has resigned, accepting an athletic director’s position at Tippecanoe High School in Akron, Indiana.
Butcher, an Indiana native, coached the Jets to a 29-34 record in two seasons.
“I am thankful to Northern Oklahoma College for trusting me to lead the men’s basketball program,” Butcher said. “While we weren’t actively pursuing other opportunities, the opportunity to return back to our home area was something that me and my family couldn’t pass up.”
“I will miss the practices, the film sessions, the locker room after big wins, and the thrill of watching our guys move on to be successful at their 4-year schools after their time with us,” he added. “Northern is a great place with so many wonderful people. I have no doubt that with the roster we have set in place for this season that great things are in store for the Jets.”
NOC Athletic Director Alan Foster wished Butcher well
“While I am sad to not have the opportunity to work more with Aaron (Butcher) I wish him and his family all the best in this new endeavor,” he said. “We will look forward to filling this position with a quality coach who can continue the NOC-Enid Jets successful trajectory. Our student athletes deserve our best efforts.”
Butcher came to NOC from Ancilla College in Donaldson, Indiana.
