Tonkawa Lady Buc softballers rallied for an 11-10 win over Pawnee Monday night, their first of the young season.
The Lady Bucs are now 1-2 for the year so far. The girls stole the lead late in the game vs. Pawnee when Kenzie Glenny grounded out, scoring one run. Torrie Simmons scored three runs, Autumn Roberts two and Skylee Perkins, Alyssa Pando, Sarah Sherron, rylee Hampton and Maddy Randall each scored one. Pando and Perkins got the RBI’s. Hampton and Pando had stolen bases. Taylor Mercer pitched all seven innings, stiking out nine.
Tonkawa was to host Nowata Tuesday night and will be involved in the Frontier Tournament this weekend at Red Rock.
The Lady Bucs hit the road next week at Caney Valley, Ramona, Monday, Aug. 24, and at Pawhuska next Tuesday, Aug. 25.
In action vs. Pawhuska Thursday, Aug. 13, the Lady Bucs fell 1-3.
Skylee Perkins scored the lone run and Morgan Hall got credit for the RBI. Rylee Hampton led hitters with two singles. Hall, Kenzie Glenny and Perkins also hit singles.
Perkins also got a stolen base.
Taylor Mercer pitched all seven innings for the Lady Bucs, striking out seven.
