The University of Central Oklahoma College of Education and Professional Studies recently awarded Tonkawa resident Misty Bess a scholarship for the upcoming fall and spring semesters in recognition of her academic achievements and outstanding service to the university.
Bess, a graduate student majoring in library media education, received the Patterson Family Endowed Scholarship. The scholarship was established by former UCO Donna Nigh Department of Advanced Professional and Special Services Department Chairperson, Pat Couts, Ed.D., to aid students majoring in library media education.
“Our students work hard to achieve a high level of academic and professional success during their time at Central and it is important that we are able to honor their achievements,” said Donna Cobb, Ed.D., dean of the UCO College of Education and Professional Studies.
“We are grateful to our many generous alumni and friends of the college who make it possible for us to honor our students with scholarship awards to assist in completing their education.”
