Dear Senior Class of 2020,
Are you doing alright? How have you been? I know things are hard, but we must take it in stride.
We grew up together, all of us. From Pre-K, to Middle School, to now, we stuck together. We are one of the smallest, if not the smallest, class at THS, which makes it all the better.
Together, we are grieving. We are missing our last few months of school. Prom, baseball, track, skip day, and graduation, all whisked away in a day. Oh, what I’d give to walk back into the school one more time to go to class, to go to one more baseball game and sit in the dugout, to say goodbye to some of my friends and teachers knowing I might not see them again. You can reschedule events, such as prom and graduation, but you cannot reschedule the memories we would’ve made in class with our favorite teachers and classmates. That’s the worst part.
This week would have been our graduation week. If things had gone to plan, we would all be having one of the most memorable days of our lives soon.
We’d finally get to walk across the stage after four years of waiting for this moment. Luckily for us, we have a supportive community in our corner, a community who will help make the day memorable even if it’s a bit different than planned. I hope all of you seniors can make it to the parade, it’s one last time for us all to be in one spot together, it may not happen again.
To our wonderful teachers, we miss you. We never got the chance to say goodbye. You have helped form us into the people we are today, and we cannot thank you enough. Nobody sees the true impact a teacher has on a student, but we do. You teach us more than just lessons out of a book. The difficult teachers taught us how to be patient and punctual. The sweet teachers taught us not to be shy and to be ourselves. The fun teachers kept our gears turning and asked us more than what’s in a lesson. Each one of you is different. Each one of you is great. I miss you. Although you will never have us in class again, we hope to see you soon.
To all school faculty, thank you for all that you do for us. You ...
