Tonkawa baseballers take a 3-1 overall record into the Ripley Tournament this weekend.
At press time, it is still scheduled.
The Bucs will play Vian at 1:15 p.m. Thursday, March 19, at Ripley.
If they win, they play the Morrison-Cleveland winner at 8 p.m. Friday. Lose and they play the losers of the same game at 1:15 p.m. Friday.
Other teams in the tourney include Ripley, Newkirk, Leedey, Atoka and Amber-Pocasset.
In action last week, the Bucs beat Chisholm 6-5 Thursday and lost to Perry 4-5 March 10.
Blake Scott got the lone extra base hit, a double, in the win over Chisholm March 12.
Chazz Slavens led in RBI’s with two. Kai Day and Parker Miller each had RBI’s as well.
Kai Day stole two bases while Dylan Hamilton, Miller, Cody Morgan, Jake Randall, Scott and Slavens each had one.
Scott pitched 5.1 innings, striking out 10. Hamilton pitched the remaining 5.2 innings, striking out five.
In the 4-5 loss to Perry, Parker Miller hit a home run, triple and double in the game. He had three RBI’s and Jake Randall one.
Day had the lone stolen base.
Miller pitched the first 3.2 innings, striking out six. Hamilton pitched the final three, striking out two.
The Bucs are scheduled to go to Pawnee next Monday, March 23, for a 5 p.m. first pitch.
