Jean Dahlem Will Edit The Maverick
Jean Dahlem, a sophomore from Tonkawa, has been chosen editor of the “Maverick”, Northern Oklahoma Junior college’s student newspaper, for the spring semester.
Jean has been in the NOJC band and is a former member of the glee club. She is a member of the Razzettes and was Razzbound Queen last year. She is majoring in Home economics and taking journalism as an elective. Jean has been on the Dean’s honor roll for three consecutive semesters.
Assistant editor will be Lana Harman, a sophomore from Ponca City who was last semester’s editor, Lynn Smith will be in charge of photography.
Reporters for the second semester include Lewis Gray, Glenda Cline, Dave Causey, Alan Sneed, Dick See, Lynn Smith, Cliff Davis, Bob Haley, Phyllis Thompson, Dick Hall, J. L. Young, Winston Worrell, and Larry Ganz.
Printers are Paige Williams, Steve Locke, James Williams, Bill Boone, Ray Merrit, and Robert Murray. Odus Rice and Clyde Williams are faculty advisors.
Kay Democrats Will Hold Precinct Meetings
Kay county Democrats were reminded today of precinct meetings to be held Friday at 7:30 p.m. by J. W. Boone, county Democratic chairman.
Boone said the meetings would be held in the usual voting places in each precinct with either the chairman, co-chairman or election inspector in charge of arrangements.
To be elected for a term of two years are a chiarman, co-chairman, secretary and four committeemen from each precinct, as well as two delegates to the county convention.
Boone reminded Democrats that the county convention and county central committee meetings were to be held on different dates and should not be confused in the election of delegates.
According to the Democratic constitution, the chairman and co-chairman, who shall be of opposite sex, are members of the Democratic Central committee but are not delegates to the county convention unless they are also elected as delegates.
Precinct chairmen or inspectors have been furnished blanks for certifying the election of the various committeemen and officers, Boone said.
Meetings in Tonkawa have been scheduled at the following locations:
TC-1. for persons residing north of Grand avenue and east of the Santa Fe railroad tracks at the Old Church of Christ building in the 600 block of East Grand avenue:
