ALLEN, Kansas —The Northern Oklahoma College Mavs swept Allen County in a doubleheader Saturday in Allen, Kansas.
NOC (4-12) rallied from down 4-3 in the 7th to win the first game 7-4 and then shut out Allen 10-0 in the night cap.
“The girls played hard and as a team,” said coach Tori Wilde. “Jenna Chassie was solid in the circle and that kept us ready to go. In the first game, going into the 7th down by one is tough but the girls fought hard and scored four runs. The momentum carried into the second game and we put pressure on them early.”
In Game 1, the Mavs trailed 4-3 then scored four runs in the 7th as the Mavs strung three hits together scoring four runs.
Hallie Durkee had two hits while Chloe Jameson added a double for NOC.
In Game 2, Chassie allowed just two hits in five innings of work.
Durkee homered and doubled while Madison Kettler Aylin Nunez, and Katelyn Yee had two hits each. Kettler, Durkee, and Jameson had two runs batted in each.
