Pioneer Area Quilters Guild will meet on Monday, February 3 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 1904 N. Pecan in Ponca City. Stitch and assist is at 10:30 a. m. Social hour will start at 11:15 a.m. Business meeting begins at Noon followed by show and share of quilts and projects. The program will begin at about 1:00 p. m. Nancy Taylor will be the speaker.

Nancy Taylor is a life long Ponca City, Oklahoma resident and is a Ponca City High School graduate of the 2002 class. She attended Oklahoma State University and graduated from OSU-Okmulgee with a degree in Culinary Arts and Foodservice Management. She has been a successful small business owner and entrepreneur or the last 11 years, owning and operating Completely Quilted in downtown Ponca City with her parents Paul and Suzy Taylor. Her love and respect for the community have kept her involved in civic organizations and leadership positions. Taylor’s passions include making a difference for children and families. Taylor has served the CASA agency of Kay and Noble Counties as an advisory board member and as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for children in the court system. She is also a past Ponca City Main Street Board Member of the year, Red Cross hero, and Leadership Ponca City Alumna. During her education with the Ponca City Leadership class she earned a deeper respect for the workings of the city and city leadership and served as a City Commissioner and the Vice Mayor as well as a Trustee for the Ponca City Development authority. Taylor currently the board for the New Resource serves on Emergency
Agency (NERA) with a mission of fighting hunger in our region. As a member of St. Mary’s Catholic church she was elected to the Parish Council and worked to re-write and modernize the parish Council Constitution. Taylor has served her church as a children’s religious education teacher and lives her Christian faith. Nancy Taylor is mother to two children, Mary 15 and Tommy 14 who both attend Ponca City public schools.
