2019 BUSINESS OF THE YEAR: O-K BIT SERVICE
The Tonkawa Chamber of Commerce announces its 104th Annual Banquet. The event will be January 16, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. in the Renfro Center on the campus of Northern Oklahoma College.
The program highlights the accomplishments of Tonkawa, including the announcement of award recipients for Employee of the Year, Citizen of the Year, Business of the Year, and Lifetime Service Award.
Tickets are $30.00 each or you may reserve a table of 8 for $300.00. Tickets may be purchased at the Chamber of Commerce office, 102 E. Grand Ave. or reserved by calling 580-628-2220. Checks should be made payable to Tonkawa Chamber of Commerce. Please RSVP by Wednesday, January 10, 2020 to ensure availability of tickets for you and your guests.

Residential holiday decoration contest won by Applemans
The residential and rural home/yard decoration contest held again in Tonkawa this year during the Olde Tyme Christmas Celebration, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, has been won by Ron and Nancy Appleman, 315 Krow Drive, Tonkawa.
The Tonkawa News has donated $100 in prize money and provided judges for the event.
Winners can pick up their check at 126 E. Grand, The Tonkawa News.
Christmas Eve, Christmas Day Mass times set by St., Joseph Catholics
Father Benjamin Lwin will celebrate the Mass of the Nativity of the Lord at 9 p.m. Christmas Eve, Dec. 24 at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Tonkawa.
Preceding the Mass, the Christmas Choir, directed and accompanied on the organ by Jerry Steichen, will begin caroling at 8:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend the caroling and the Mass.
Melinda Glasgow will greet parishioners and guests in the church vestibule.
Josette Swanson and Lilliana Jarrett will bring the figure of the Christ Child in procession to the crèche as the Christmas Choir sings the carol “Rocking”. Father Lwin will then bless the crèche before lighting the Christ Candle. Larry Swords will declaim the Christmas Proclamation.
Serving at the altar will be Nicole Caughlin and Ryan Davis. Melinda Glasgow will serve as sacristan.
