Football contest
Mark Martin of Tonkawa wins first and $10 in the Weekly Tonkawa News Football Contest.
Second and $7 goes to Mike Smith. Third and $3 goes to Martha Parker.
This was the final regular season contest. The annual Holiday Football Contest will be published Dec. 26.
Martin was the lone entry to get all games correct. Several missed one game. Smith was closest to the the tie-breaker, picking Pawnee to beat Cashion 28-27, 19 points off the actual 16-34 loss by the Black Bears.
Parker was 28 points off, picking Pawnee to win 34-24. Others missing one game but farther off the tie-breaker were Tracy Summers, Chuck Neely, Shelly Martin and Dawn McGaha.
Entries should be submitted to The News office at 126 E. Grand by noon Friday each week.
Prize money is $10 for first, $7 for second and $3 for third.
Winners will be announced in the following week’s edition.
Entrants are urged to circle a winner for each game and fill in the tie-breaker score. Be sure your name is on the entry.
