Tonkawa’s girls cross country team will be going to the Class 2A state this Saturday, Oct. 26.
The girls qualified at the Class 2A regional held at OBA in Enid Saturday, Oct. 19.
The girls will be running at 12:30 p.m. in Shawnee at the Gordon Cooper Vo-Tech Center. Awards will be presented 20 minues after the conclusion of the race.
Members of the team include Emily Hale, Hannah Haley, Brooklyn Day, Rachel Means, Heidi Hembree, Karlee Jacobs, Kaedyn Warrior and manager Anna Lois Denton. Coach is Kurt Kirtley.
The Tonkawa girls finished fifth at the 2A Cross Country regional championships at the Oklahoma Bible Academy cross country course in Enid.
Hooker was first, Boise City second, Cherokee third, Balko fourth and Tonkawa fifth.
