James RUssell Williams
James Russell Williams was born on July 3, 1935 to the parents of Xenia and Frank
Williams of Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
He attended schooling in
Copan where he graduated. He served his country in the Navy from 1954 to 1958 during the
Korean Conflict aboard the submarine USS Spinex as a Interior Communication Specialist 3rd Class.
He married his high school sweetheart Helen Combs, had two children, Russell and Elizabeth. He worked for Pacific
Gas and Electric (PG&E) for several years as a quality control inspector and with the high steam electric generator system.
From 1967 to 1975 trained as a
Contra Costa County Sheriff
Officer then later transferred to
California Highway Patrol. He worked over 20 years for different construction company\ ies as an electrician, carpenter and a pipe fitter. In 1995 he put all of his talents to use as the head maintenance supervisor for the town of Ft. Laramie in
Wyoming. Parts of the responsibilities were maintaining the electrical, water system, and vehicles used in the town. Several years after that he moved to Tonkawa, Oklahoma, where he spent the rest of his life.
James received the Lord as his Savior and was baptized on the 30th of July, 1978, at the Basalt Bible Church by the Reverend Jim H. Johnson.
James Russell Williams is survived by his two children, Russell F. Williams of Stratford, California and Elizabeth M. Prentice of Moyock, North Carolina, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Memorial service for James R. Williams will be held on the 26th of September 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the Ray See Park in Tonkawa, Oklahoma. The public is welcome to attend.
