Tonkawa bats went cold against Oklahoma Union Monday in the home opener for the Lady Buc softballers. The result was a
0-6 loss to the district foe.
Taylor Mercer pitched all seven innings for the Lady Bucs, striking out five.
Tonkawa was to play Drumright Tuesday, then go to the Ripley
Tournament this weekend. Drumright games have all been cancelled because the Lady Drillers have not fielded a team this season. The Lady Bucs will meet Glencoe at Perkins 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, then play Dale at Ripley Thursday at 1 p.m.
Next week’s games include Pawnee here Monday and at Nowata
Tuesday.
The Lady Bucs finished up its scrimmage schedule Saturday,
Aug. 10.
Tonkawa lost to Morrison 1-7, but beat Mulhall-Orlando 9-2,
Perry 4-3, and tied Shidler 13-13. Alyssa Pando and Camaryn Alexander each had doubles in the game vs. Morrison. Kristin Martin homered and Alexander doubled twice vs. Mulhall-Orlando. Alexander had a triple vs. Perry and two doubles vs. Shidler. Taylor Mercer has been on the mound for Tonkawa through the pre-season.
Coaches this year will be Jamie Means and Jesse Mercer.
