The Tonkawa city library wrapped up its 2019 Summer Reading Program last week and had a big Reading Reward Water Slide Party on the front lawn of the library (on July 18th).
Readers who read a minimum of 10 books were invited to participate in the water slide party, and the library also held 3 drawings to give away Kindle Fire tablets to its participants. Readers also received a snow cone from the Swamp Buggy.
In the 4-6 age category Zane Haley won the Kindle Fire tablet, ages 7-9 winner was Italia Kennon, and ages 10-12 winner was Jade Post.
The library would like to thank our teen volunteers Hannah Haley, Jazmin Hazard, Aniyah Berry, Brendan Ochoa, Tuff Crosby, Adynn Ronald, and our adult volunteer Kendra Stokesberry for keeping things running smoothly during the party.
This party is a great incentive to keep kids reading during the summer so that when school starts they’re able to keep their reading levels up. It’s just a good time for everyone involved.
The library would also like to congratulate Bayler Howard for being our 2019 Top Reader.
