Tonkawa city councilmen have approved emergency repairs of nearly $30,000 to the in-town basin.
City Manager Kirk Henderson said there was a 12-inch pipe separation the evening of July 6th and it caused significant damage to the electronics inside the building. “Staff did a great job of getting temporary repairs made where we only had a drop in water pressure for a short period of time,” Henderson said. The city had Haynes come in to keep the city running temporarily until permanent repair can be made. An insurance claim has been filed, the city manager said.
The city also had a sink hold located at NOC and Plum. “We believe this was caused by a breach of our sewer line,” Henderson said. Cimarron Broadband will be billed for the repairs.
In other action at the Tuesday, July 16, meeting of the mayor and council Jack Evans, Ken Smith, Glenn Cope, Scott Klufa and Stacy Burns:
