High schoolers interested in Cross Country should meet with Head Coach Kurt Kirtley at his classroom at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 25.
Tonkawa Tribal JOM meeting Aug. 5
The Tonkawa Tribal Johnson O’Malley program will be holding a JOM parent meeting on Monday, Aug. 5, at 5:30 p.m. in the Tonkawa Tribal Gym. All parents of Native American students are asked to attend. The meeting will inform parents of JOM eligibility requirements, what is available for each child through the school year, inform parents of new requirements on requesting JOM assistance and to elect new parent committee. THS Alumni will meet on Thursday, August 8, at 5:30 p.m. in the THS Library.
City-wide garage sales Aug. 3
Tonkawa city-wide garage sales applications are now being taken by the Tonkawa Chamber of Commerce. The city-wide sale will be Saturday, Aug. 3. Cost is $12 and the deadline is 4 p.m. Friday, July 26. The fee includes the permit to the city, Tonkawa News ad and map and advertising in area media.
Benefit breakfast for Kyle Owens
A benefit breakfast will be held Saturday, July 27, from 7-10 a.m. at the fellowship hall of the Christian Life Church. Pancakes and sausage, biscuits and gravy and drink will be served. there will also be a bake sale during the breakfast. It is free with donations accepted. If one cannot attend, donations can be given to the cuurch for the Owens family.
Tonkawa Wrestling Camp set
A Tonkawa wrestling camp will be held July 31-August 2 for ages first through eighth grades. Cost will be $50 for the first wrestlers and additional siblings $25 each. All proceeds will go to the Tonkawa Takedown Club. It will be 6-8 p.m. nightly at the Tonkawa wrestling room, which is air conditioned. Revival at Lamont church Aug. 3-4
A Northern Plains Revival “Let the Light Shine” will be aug. 3-4 at the Prairie view Assembly of God church, 223 W. Maple, Lamont. services will be 6 p.m. saturday and 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday. It is presented by Freedom in the spirit Ministries and Witness 731 Christian rock band.
