The Billings Chamber of Commerce met Wednesday, June 19, 2019 in the Billings Community Building. The meeting was called to order at 6:02 p.m. by President Learned.
The flag salute was led by Lewain Learned and the prayer given by Rev. Ruth Tipps. Those answering roll call were Lewain Learned, Aimie Learned, Eileen Learned, Karen Culp, Mark Branson, Melinda Branson, Ruth Tipps, Samantha Stanley, and Candy Oller.
Minutes from the May meeting were not available.
Financial Report – Karen Culp reported financials per Beth Bierig’s phone message-Savings and checking-$3148.92 and Arts and Crafts $1238.18. Financials were approved as reported.
Yard of the Month – Candy Oller reported the presentation would be made soon to Kay and Scott Ranney.
New Business
4th of July – The Chamber is sponsoring a Community Block Party at Lion’s Park on June 29, 2019 beginning at 6:00 p.m. Free Hot Dogs, chips, watermelon and drinks will be served and games played. Beth Bierig is chair of this event and has been gathering donations. There will not be a Fireworks Show this year due to lack of certified Fireworks personnel with the Volunteer Fire Department or Town of Billings.
Wheat Festival – Beth Bierig, chair was unable to attend the meeting. The 31st annual Wheat Festival is scheduled for October 12th. Oller suggested getting with Beth and possibly setting up a work night to help mail out vendor booth applications.
