Bill Collectors Band in concert Monday
The Bill Collectors will be playing at the Full Moon Concert Monday, June 17 in Tonkawa Centennial Park, 301 East Grand.
The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. and is free to all. In case of inclement weather, the concert will take place in the Santa Fe Depot across the street from the park. Since seating in the park is limited, the public is invited to bring lawn chairs or blankets and snacks. Pets on leashes are welcome. Restroom facilities are located across the street in the Santa Fe Depot.
During the evening, time will be scheduled to walk the world’s only heart-shaped labyrinth under the light of the full moon. The walk concludes with the traditional howl at the moon from the labyrinth goal. Heart in the Park Committee and North Central Oklahoma Arts Council sponsor the free concerts held May through October at 7:30 p.m. on the night of the full moon.

The THS Alumni will meet on Thursday, June 13, at 5:30 p.m. at the THS Library.
Come meet legislators Friday
Come meet and talk with Kay County legislators 7 a.m. Friday, June 14, at Mary’s Grill. Sen. Bill Coleman and Rep. John Pfeiffer will be giving voters a re-cap on the just-concluded Oklahoma State legislative session. they will also be taking questions.
Tonkawa midhi summer pride begins
Tonkawa midhi football summer pride is now under way, Head Coach Gage Martin announced this week. It will be at 9 a.m. each Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Meet at the midhi locker room on those mornings.
Pre-kindergarten spots limited; enroll
Tonkawa Elementary School Pre-Kindergarten spots are limited. If you have a child who will be 4 by September 1st, you need to pre enroll. The elementary office is open 8-4, Monday-Thursday. Please come by and reserve your spot.
Donate to weight room project
The Tonkawa Alumni Association is conducting a fund drive for the 2019 weight room project for Buccaneer athletics, president David Fruits said this week. Make checks payable to the Tonkawa Alumni Association, P.O. Box 12, Tonkawa, OK 74653.
Firemen testing hydrants this month
The Tonkawa Fire Department will be testing hydrants during the month of May and the first half of June. Fire Chief/EMS Director Justin Kienzle made the announcement.
