The annual Lucky Duck Derby sponsored by the Tonkawa High School Alumni Association, who is partnering with the Tonkawa Masonic Lodge for this event, will be held on Tuesday, July 4th, immediately following the parade downtown Tonkawa at the canal on West Grand Avenue just west of the Christian Church.
One can adopt a duck for the derby at the First National Bank, Farmer’s Exchange Bank, Chamber Office, Sarah Campbell’s Dental Office, The Final Cut, and from a THS Alumni Board member (Jeremy Owen, Ruth Jeffries, Ty Williams, Darren Pendleton, Jill Shackelford, Melinda Glasgow, David Fruits, Debbie Fruits, Michael Fruits, and Reta Swords). Ducks may also be adopted at Venture Foods on Saturday, June 15th, and also from Saturday, June 22nd, through Tuesday, July 2nd.
The cost to adopt a duck for the Derby is $5.00 each or 5 ducks for $20.00. Proceeds go toward THS Senior scholarships and THS projects. You do not need to be present to win.
