Tonkawa softball camp June 10-12
A Tonkawa softball camp will be held June 10-12 from 9 a.m. to noon at the high school softball field, according to Coach kelsey Smith.
It will be for those entering K-5th grades. The camp will work on catching, throwing, hitting, fielding, base running, etc. Forms are available at the high school and elementary offices. Full Moon concert Saturday night
“Mike and Dana” will open the 2019 Full Moon Concert Series at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 18 in Tonkawa Centennial Park, 301 East Grand.
The popular duo features Mike Ball of Tonkawa on guitar and vocals and Dana Poulson of Ponca City on vocals, performing nostalgic, contemporary and classic sounds.
County Democrats meet tonight
The Kay County Democratic Party will be having a meeting on Thursday, May. 16, 2019 in Room 131B at Pioneer Tech. The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. The speaker will be Rick Dunham.
Donate to weight room project
The Tonkawa Alumni Association is conducting a fund drive for the 2019 weight room project for Buccaneer athletics, president David Fruits said this week. Make checks payable to the Tonkawa Alumni Association, P.O. Box 12, Tonkawa, OK 74653.
Firemen testing hydrants this month
The Tonkawa Fire Department will be testing hydrants during the month of May and the first half of June. Fire Chief/EMS Director Justin Kienzle made the announcement.
Boogie-Woogie pianist in concert
The world famous Boogie-Woogie/Jazz & Blues pianist from Switzlerland -- Silvan Zingg -- will be in concert at the Blackwell high school auditorium 7 p.m. Friday, May 24. Tickets are on sale at the Blackwell Chamber of Commerce and other Blackwell locations. Questions? Call 580.363.4532.
