POTEAU, Oklahoma -- The Northern Oklahoma College Mavericks dropped their final regular season games to Carl Albert Sunday in Poteau 4-2 and 8-2.
NOC (41-14) finished the Region 2 schedule at 12-8 while Carl Albert (19-25) finished 5-15 in Region 2.
Carl Albert 4, Mavs 2
In Game 1, the Mavs rallied from 4-0 down in the 7th only to fall to Carl Albert 4-2.
Luke Quick and Ashton Francis had runs batted in for the Mavs in the final inning. The Mavs had the tying runs on base when the final out was made.
Quick led the Mavs with two singles as NOC had six hits in Game 1.
Tyler Kisner (7-2) allowed two earned runs and seven hits over four innings of work.
Carl Albert 8, Mavs 2
In Game 2, the Vikings led the Mavs 4-2 in the 8th and scored four runs to ice the 8-2 win.
Ben MacNaughton had a big game for the Mavs with a double and home run. The freshman from Edmond had one run batted in and scored both Mavs’ runs.
Jaken Snider (4-3) allowed two earned runs over four innings for the Mavs.
The Mavs will face the Vikings again on Thursday in the first round of the Region 2 Tournament in Enid.
