Tonkawa baseballers Thursday will be going for their eighth straight Class 2A district championship.
The Bucs will host Hooker at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Thursday, April 25 in a best of three series. If needed, the two teams will play again Friday. Once a winner is determined, the OSSAA will announce regional pairings, probably Sunday afternoon.
The Bucs are scheduled to go to Drummond Monday, April 29, at 5 p.m. in the final game of the regular season.
In action this past week, the Bucs beat Crescent 18-4 last Tuesday and Blackwell Monday night 9-1. The Bucs were to host Chisholm Tuesday night.
Tonkawa played Crescent twice last week, beating them here on Monday, then going on the road to post the lop-sided win.
In that game at Crescent, Dylan Hamilton posted six RBI’s and hit a grand slam home run.
Tonkawa is 18-6 going into district tournament play today.

Noah Campbell tripled and Brady Hook and Chazz Slavens each doubled in a 9-1 win at Blackwell Monday night.
Kai Day led in RBI’s with three. Campbell had two, Brady Hook and Parker Miller one each.
Hamilton, Jake Randall and slavens each had stolen bases.
Hamilton, Cameron Grein, and Day each scored twice. Brandon Alexander, Hook and campbell each scored once.
Hamilton pitched the first two innings, striking out three. Alexander pitched the final three, striking out four.

Besides Hamilton’s grand slam, Blake Scott doubled in the win over Crescent.
Cameron Grein had three RBI’s, Chazz Slavens and Scott two each and Parker Miller, Brandon Alexander and Kai Day one each.
Alexander stole two bases while Noah Campbell, Hamilton and Day had one each.
Alexander pitched all five innings, striking out five.
