Tonkawa girls and boys track teams swept the Ringwood high school track meet with championships in both divisions.
It couldn’t have come at a better time for the Bucs, who now go to Cherokee this Saturday for the Class 2A regional meet. The top three finishers in each event qualifies for the state tournament the followng weekend at Western Heights in Oklahoma City.
Class 2A teams in the regional include Burns Flat/Dill City, Cordell, Crescent, Crossings Christian, Fairview, Hinton, Hooker, Merritt, Morrison, Pawnee, Pioneer, Tonkawa and Watonga.

The Lady Bucs, coached by Kurt Kirtley, ran away with the meet, racking up 141 points to runner-up Seiling’s 108. The Buc boys edged runner-up Waynoka 107-106 for the crown.
Individual championships were won by Kennedy Martin in the 100m hurdles, Hannah Haley in the 3200m run, Mikayla Myer in the 300m hurdles, the 1600m relay team of Emma Owen, Anna Sawyer, Emily Hale and Karlee Meadows; and Kristin Martin in high jump for the girls; and the boys 3200m relay team of Jayden Myer, Peyton Day, Joby Jauregui and David Hernandez.
