Tonkawa Buc baseballers notched another tournament championship to their belts in preparation for the Class 2A district they will host April 25-27.
The Bucs won the Lil’ Country Classic at Glencoe and Morrison last weekend.
Tonkawa dispatched Morrison 5-4 in the championship after beating Yale 20-8 and Oilton 10-6 last Thursday and Glencoe 4-3 and Morrison last Friday. The Bucs also beat Glencoe 9-4 in a regular season affair last Tuesday.
The Bucs will host this year’s Class 2A District Tournament April 25-27 vs. Hooker. Times will be announced later. Head Coach Brady Holland said it would be played on Thursday and Friday in the best of three series with the Bulldogs.
Monday night, Tonkawa beat Crescent 8-4.
The Bucs were to go to Crescent Tuesday. This Thursday, Tonkawa goes to Blackwell, then closes out the regular season at Blackwell next Monday and will host Chisholm next Tuesday. The Bucs are to host Drummond Monday, April 29.
Tonkawa is 16-6 on the year so far.

The latest win came Monday night vs. Crescent with an 8-4 win with a double by Brandon Alexander. Alexander and Chazz Slavens led in RBI’s with two each. Hook had one.
Cameron Grein, Dylan Hamilton and Jake Morgan each stole a base.
Parker Miller scored two runs while Slavens, Hamilton, Grein, Jake Randall, Noah Campbell and Jake Morgan scored one each
Hook pitched all seven innings, striking out six.
Tonkawa 20 Yale 8
Brandon Alexander hit two doubles and Chazz Slavens one coupled with a homerun by Blake Scott in the 20-8 win over Yale.
Alexander had four RBI’s while Brady Hook, Scott and Chazz Slavens had two each. Dylan Hamilton and Jake Scott had one each.
Hamilton stole two bases while Hook, Parker Miller, Cody Morgan and Jake Randall had one each.
Slaven scored four runs, Miller and Scott three each, Alexander, Hook, Hamilton and Randall two each. Morgan and Kai day each scored one.
Chazz Slavens pitched three innings, striking out one.
Tonkawa 10 Oilton 6
Scott homered again against Oilton while Alexander and Hamilton tripled. Hook had two doubles and Day one.
Hook led the team in RBI’s with four, Alexander three, Day, Hamilton and Scott one each.
Day and Hamilton each had stolen bases.
