Earth Day will honor NOC cheer
Earth Day will be Monday, April 22. The Chamber will be presenting the NOC Cheer Team an award in recognition of their recent 2019 USA Collegiate National Champions “Division: 2 Year College-Small Coed” Thereby bringing Recognition & Pride to Tonkawa. The award will be presented at 5:00 p.m. at Heart in the Park. They will then kick off the Earth Walk with a ‘cheer’.
Pre-K enrollment April 23-24
Tonkawa Elementary School pre-kindergarten enrollment will be April 23 and April 24, Principal Kelly Martin announced. All children who are or will be four by Sept. 1, 2019, are eligible. Enrollment in the city limits will be 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, at the grade school library. enrollment at Fort Oakland will be 9 a.m. to noon wednesday, April 24, at the junior-senior building. Please bring birth certificate, shot record and social security card.
Administrative professional day set
All administrative professionals are invited to attend a recetion in honor of administrative professionals’ Day Wednesday, April 24, 8:30 to 10 a.m. at the First National Bank in the Heritage Room. Refreshments will be served and door prizes will be awarded by various businesses. It is sponsored by the Tonkawa Chamber of Commerce.
Eggs and issues Friday at Quiddy’s
Sen. Bill coleman will be appearing in an Eggs and Issues session at Quiddy’s, 507 East North Ave., at 7 a.m. Friday, April 12.
Buc ring celebration Sunday
The Tonkawa Quarterback Club is hosting a ring celebration Sunday, April 14 at 7 p.m. in the Event Center. Everyone is invited. The 2018 Tonkawa Buc football team won the Class A state championship.
Hospice business meeting April 22
On Monday, April 22, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. Hospice of North Central Oklahoma, Inc. will conduct its annual business meeting, reviewing the activities and statistics of 2018. Those with voting privileges include 2018 volunteers, donors and contributors. All are encouraged to attend. The meeting will be held in the Evan’s Fireside Room at 445 Fairview.
