50 years ago, March 14, 1974Girls States Delegates And Alternates Are Named By American Legion AuxiliaryAmerican Legion Auxiliary president Mrs. Howard Harold announced today that Mary Coyle and Ann Fitzgerald have been selected as 1974 Girls State delegates and Judy Hullet and Marta Moorman have been named as alternates.The Marland delegate is Nona Gay James, and Cora King is alternate. They are sponsored by the Marland PTA.Girls State will be held May 25-June 1 at East Central State College, Ada, sponsored and directed by the American Legion Auxiliary, department of Oklahoma.Wilson Resigns First National For Kremlin Post Warren A. Wilson, vice president of the First National Bank since 1969 has resigned his job here to accept the post of president and chief executive officer of the Bank of Kremlin. It has been announced. He will take over his new job April 1. He submitted his resignation to the board of directors of the bank here last Wednesday.Wilson said he plans to keep his family here until after school is out in May and then will make plans to move to Kremlin. He and his wife Barbara have two children, Cody, a senior at Tonkawa High school and Bunny, a sophomore at THS.Wilson, a native of Weleelka, moved here ten years ago from Oklahoma City and opened a hardware store and operated it until 1968 when he closed it out. He joined the First National in June, 1963 and was made a vice president in 1969.Active in community affairs, Wilson served on the city council from 1968-70 and served a term as a vice mayor. He was vice president of the Chamber of Commerce in 1966 and president in 1967. He served on the board of directors of the Lions club and the United Fund and was a member of the College Community Council. He has been vice chairman and chairman of the board at the First Christian church.Wilson said the bank he is joining is a $3 million institution and is 74 years old.
