Kenneth Smith, mayor of the City of Tonkawa, recently received the Certified Mayor designation from the Mayors Council of Oklahoma.
This program’s purpose is to recognize mayors and vice mayors who continue to develop their skill and enrich their expertise in local government. This is a voluntary program available to all Mayors Council member mayors and vice mayors.
In order to obtain this certification, a mayor must attend a total of 40 credit hours of training in sessions offered by the Oklahoma Municipal League, Mayors Council of Oklahoma and other entities.
