Mike and the Dirty Boys will headline the Full Moon Concert on Friday, June 21 in Tonkawa Centennial Park, 301 East Grand, Tonkawa, OK. The acoustic rock/ country band features Zakk Stovall, vocals and guitar; Brandon Miller, drums; Ray Moreland, bass; Dyllon Cheeseman, guitar; Tim Saupitty, lead guitar; and Austin Hamilton, lead vocals.Mike and the Dirty Boys is a melting pot of various styles and talents that have the main goal of putting smiles on faces and entertaining audiences with their unique approach to music classics and current hits. This concert will be the band’s debut Full Moon performance. Mike and the Dirty Boys was started by Stovall as a creative outlet for Z Guitar students, Mike Laughlin and Cheeseman. Miller, Moreland and Saupitty were recruited over time with the most recent member being lead singer Hamilton of Tonkawa. Laughlin departed the band shortly after creation to pursue another endeavor, but “Mike” remains in the band’s name.The family-friendly outdoor concert begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Heart in the Park Pavilion and is free to all. Since bench seating in the park is limited, the public is invited to bring lawn chairs or blankets. Pets on leashes are welcome and restroom facilities are located across the street in the Santa Fe Depot. Throughout the evening, concert goers may walk the world’s only heartshaped labyrinth, and the evening concludes with the traditional group howl at the full moon!Begun in 2015, North Central Oklahoma Arts Council and Heart in the Park Committee of the Tonkawa Historical Society sponsor the free monthly concerts throughout the summer season on the night of the full moon. Next month’s Full Moon Concert is scheduled for Sunday, July 21 with Enid-based band Dually Noted taking the stage.
