Marissa Parker and Mike Smith, both of Tonkawa, split first and second place money and win the weekly Tonkawa News Football Contest this week.They get $8.50 each. Third and $3 goes to Travis Parker. Several missed three games this week with all the upsets. So it came down to the tie-breaker to decide the winners. Marissa was just 12 points off the final 24-19 win by Texas Tech over OSU. She picked the Cowboys 30-23.Smith was just 12 points off as well, picking OSU to win 2821.Travis was 17 points off picking OSU 32-20. Others who missed three games but who were further off on the tie-breaker included Shelly Martin, Peggy Neeley, Cochanna Parker and Martha Parker.Last week’s contest was the end of the regular season. The holiday contest will come out in late December. Watch for it on your newstand.Entries should be submitted to The News office at 126 E. Grand by noon Friday each week during the regular season.Prize money is $10 for first, $7 for second and $3 for third. Winners will be announced in the following week’s edition.
