The Kay County sales tax increase to fund an addition to the Courthouse passed by a 1400-854 margin Tuesday, Oct. 8.
In Tonkawa, the measure was defeated by a 115-132 margin.
The sales tax of .25 will be for 13 years and will fund the additional space needed at the courthouse in Newkirk.
