The new City of Tonkawa budget includes a four percent wage increase for all employees and a two percent increase in water utility (water, wastewater and sanitation) rates.
Budget details were approved at the Tuesday, May 18, meeting of the mayor and city council.
The aggressive budget includes $3,309,300 for the general fund and $14,511,226 for the TMA which includes $6.210 million for water improvements west of I-35 on city land that include a new standpipe, water filtration system and water wells and lines.
General fund capital outlays, by department, follow:
Police -- $24,732 for AXON year two; $28,000 for a new animal control pickup, $2,500 for digital capable radios, $1,200 for booking desktops and $41,000 for ticketing and laptops (grant).
Fire -- $12,125 for bunker gear and $72,000 for a new firefighter/EMT.
Ambulance -- $3,834 for Tango Tango, $72,000 for a new firefighter/EMT.
Court -- $1,500 for new software.
Library -- $2,000 for new computers.
Street -- $15,000 for a dump truck, $10,000 for various drainage ditches, $75,000 for drive, $50,000 to resurface North Summit, $7,500 for salts and sand spreader, $75,000 to replace existing skid steer.
Parks -- $2,500 for new solar lights and $2.3 million for a new aquatic center.
Tonkawa Municipal Authority capital outlays, by department, follow:
Electric -- $75,000 for OMPA contract, $25,000 to extend power to the new well field I-35 and Highway 60; $2,500 to replace fence at substation; $7500 for I-35 & Highway 60 highway lighting; $50,000 to demo light plant; $50,000 for AMR upgrade.
Water -- $45,000 for a new truck, $15,000 for clean in and out of town basins, $5,000 to put east standpipe back in service; $1,500 for a desktop PC; $1,500 for a quick cut saw, $3,500 for a beacon replacement, $20,00 for fire hydrants (replace 25 over next four years), $5,000 to relocate discharge line at in town basin, $45,000 for rehab in town basin searing electronics from water and reworking the roof hatch locations, $100,000 grant from NODA for generator for out of town basin; $300,000 for CDBG grant.
Water wells, standpipe and water lines at Hwy 60 and I-35, $6,210,000. (to be paid for by an OWRB loan)
In other action, Councilmen Ken Smith, Jack Evans, Scott Klufa and Charles Conaghan:
