Russell, superintendent emeritus of Stillwater Public schools, will give the commencement address next Thursday evening when 51 Tonkawa seniors will receive diplomas of graduation. The commencement program will be held in the high school auditorium, beginning at 8 p.m.Robert L. Cargill, pastor of Tonkawa’s First Baptist church, will give this year’s baccalaureate sermon at services to be held in the auditorium at 8 p.m. Sunday, May 21.Honored platform guests at commencement exercises will be Miss Vera Kimble and Earl Mann, long-time Tonkawa teachers who are retiring at the end of the current term.Also on the commencement program will be the valedictory address by Robert R. Campbell and the salutatory by Miss Marilyn Lou Cathey.•J. Evans, superintendent of schools, will introduce the speaker.Auther C. Judd, minister of the Church of Christ, will give the invocation; the benediction will be pronounced by John Bloss, pastor of the First Christian church. The processional, ‘Pomp and Circumstance,” will be played by Jan Asbury.Lincoln Will Hold Promotion Event WednesdayGraduation exercises for Lincoln school’s sixth graders will be held at 7:30 p.m. May 24, according to Cecil Rains, principal. The event will be held at Lincoln school.On the program will be a choral reading by class members, Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address, numbers by members of the sixth grade band; three songs, and a “welcome to junior high” by Supt. A. J. Evans.Promotion certificates will be presented by Rains to close the program.
