Farmer Injured in Crash
A five-year-old boy and a Tonkawa man received painful injuries about 10 a.m. today in an automobile accident just north of the Stink creek bridge on US 177 highway north of Tonkawa.
Received deep cuts about the mouth was little Tony Tabor, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Tabor of Blackwell. He was a passenger in a 1953 Chevrolet driven by his mother which collided with a 1957 Ford driven by K. C. Smith, Tonkawa farmer.
Smith received a lacerated and smashed nose. Mrs. Tabor apparently received only minor bruises.
The accident occurred when Mrs. Tabor’s northbound vehicle collided with Smith’s car approximately 100 yards north of the bridge. The Tabor car crossed in front of Smith and plunged down the highway embankment, coming to a stop against a fence post.
The injured were brought into Tonkawa Medical center, where they were released after treatment. Several stitches were required to close the boy’s wounds.
Trooper George Moore is continuing the investigation.
