Trip to Pasadena Is Outlined For Tonkawa Lions
Sickness, snowstorms and slick roads all compounded to make the trip of the NOJC band to Pasadena last month an unusual experience, Lowell Clark told members of the Lions club at their noon meeting today at Tonkawa Grill.
The snowstorms that hit the Arizona-New Mexico area in early December forced the group to go south to within 20 miles of the Mexican border, Clark said. One band member required medical attention on the trip out, and numerous members of the group required medicine for upset stomachs on the return trip.
Clark told of the chore of chaperoning the group in Los Angeles and said all behaved with credit to the college.
The band visited Marineland, Disneyland, got to see a Nike missile base in southern California and had a good time. Clark said none of the advance plans for the trip materialized and it was a pretty hectic trip but all made it in good shape.
Guests at the meeting were Auther Judd and V. R. Easterling.
