37 Tonkawans Enjoy Weekend Foliage TourThirty-seven Tonkawans enjoyed a foliage tour of Southeastern Oklahoma over the past weekend making the trip in 14 camper units.The units left Tonkawa at 6:15 p.m. Friday and spent the first night of the trip at the Eufaula Dam Site. Leaving there at 7 a.m. Saturday, they drove through Robber’s Cave Park, on the Talimena Scenic Drive, and visited the Kerr Locks and Dam. They camped Saturday night at Lake Tenkiller and on Sunday drove to Muskogee where they toured the U.S.S. Submarine Batfish, and drove through the Honor Heights Park to view the flowers there.They covered approximately 700 miles. Making the trip were Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Lindsey, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Jared, Mr. and Mrs. Vivian Thompson Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Bob Colwell and sons, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Vassar, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Loren Plummer, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Coates, Mr. and Mrs. Ron Magner, Mr. and Mrs. George Scott, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Robinson, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Teten, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Furber, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Grantz and son, and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Plummer.Joey Reynolds Is Winner In Football ContestJoey Reynolds, 107 North Twelfth street, was the winner of first place and $7.50 in cash in last week’s Football Contest. He was the only contestant to miss only two games in the contest.Second place winner of $5.00 cash was Ralph Watkins, 601 North Main. Third place winner of $2.50 cash was Burton Means, 118 West Congress. Both missed three games but Watkins picked the tie-breaker, Tonkawa-Garber game the closest.Seven contestants missed four games and failed to get a prize.
