Three Injured On US 60 West on Friday MorningTwo persons were hospitalized at Blackwell General hospital and another treated and released following a one vehicle six miles west of Tonkawa on US 60 during a snowstorm at 9:23 a.m. Friday. Most seriously injured were Gary A. Freeman, 21, Encino, Calif., driver of a 1967 Dodge camper-van and Warren Walter, 24, Ft. Worth, Tex., a passenger. Freeman had lacerations of the head and a neck injury and Walker, lacerations about the head and a dislocated wrist, according to OHP Trooper Jim Henley, who investigated. Another passenger, Kathleen Krambeck, 19, Sioux Falls, S.D. was treated for a slight head and leg injury and released.Henley, said the van was traveling east on US 60 when the driver lost control, went off the road on the right side then back across the roadway for 305 feet and plunged down an embankment. The fiberglass top of the camper struck a telephone pole, knocking it off and ejecting both passengers and then traveled about 20 feet more and came to rest in about two feet of water on it wheels, headed north.The injured were taken to the hospital by McCafferty-Bolick ambulance. Freeman was cited by Henley for careless driving. At the time of the accident it was snowing lightly and the road was slick and icy. The group was traveling in a van owned by the Covenant Players and were part of a traveling repertory company driving from Enid to Wichita at the time of the accident. The top of the van was knocked off and luggage and personal effects were scattered around the area.The water the truck came to rest in was ice-covered at the time.Two Are Injured In Fountain Road AccidentTwo persons were injured in a two-car accident on Fountain Road at 2:00 p.m. Saturday when a car driven by Dianne L. DeVilliers, 19, 803 West Grand, Ponca City, slide in front of a 1959 Olds, driven by Earl Eurvie Baker, 29, Balad Motel, Tonkawa. Miss Devilliers was taken by McCafferty-Bolick ambulance to Blackwell General hospital where she was hospitalized for a concussion and several cuts. A passenger in the Baker car, Joan Griffith, 1203 East North avenue, was brought to the Tonkawa Medical Center and treated for a broken wrist and released.According to OHP Trooper Wesley Robinett, Miss DeVilliers lost control of her 1963 Pontiac LeMans on the ice and slid in front ...
