A Funeral Ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at Providence Baptist Church, with Pastor Steve Ballinger officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Viewing was from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 20, 2021. Face masks are strongly encouraged. Ronald Eugene Appleman was born in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Stratton and Edna (Howarth) Appleman on July 30, 1933. He attended Alva Public Schools and then Oklahoma A&M (now Oklahoma State University) on a track scholarship where his team won the National Cross Country Championship in 1954. He received a Master’s of Education degree from the University of North Carolina and a doctorate in Higher Education from Oklahoma State University.
