I’ve long been curious as to why the wise men were the only ones who seemed to seek that special star. As we sing, it was a star of wonder, a star of night, a star with royal beauty bright — and when the Wisemen saw that star from the East they went! but they stopped at Jerusalem to ask for directions. Perhaps the star led them that far at first—but we are not told.

Dear Rusty: I was married to my ex-husband for 30 years. For 14 of those years, I was an unemployed mom and community volunteer. After my sons were grown, I began teaching in California and earned a teacher pension. That teacher pension eliminates ALL the spousal benefits my husband paid for. How can that be justified? Tonkawa Jaycees Win Awards At State Board Dick Pearman, Tonkawa Jaycee won first place in Keyman competition at the Jaycee State Board Meeting, Nov. 9-10 at Enid. He also placed third in Open Speakup competition.

Sermonette

Thanksgiving is a special day. Originally, it was set aside for being thankful for a bountiful harvest, and we still are. But it has become so much more. It is a time when we gather together, usually for a big meal, but it is a precious family time. Now let me remind us that it is a time of being mindful of the blessings God has given to us.
